„Der Nationalsozialismus war eine europäische Antwort auf die Frage eines Jahrhunderts. Er war die edelste Idee, für die ein Deutscher die ihm gegebenen Kräfte einzusetzen vermochte. Er schenkte einst der deutschen Nation ihre Einheit, dem Deutschen Reiche einen neuen Gehalt. Er war eine echte soziale Weltanschauung und ein Ideal blutbedingter kultureller Sauberkeit. Der Sozialismus wurde mißbraucht und entartete am Ende unter Menschen, denen sein Schöpfer in verhängnisvoller Weise sein Vertrauen geschenkt hatte. Mit ihm ist der Zusammenbruch des Reiches historisch verbunden, aber die Idee selbst ist Tat und Leben gewesen, das kann und wird nie vergessen werden.“
