Paolo Veronese war ein italienischer Maler. Er gilt als bedeutender Meister der Spätrenaissance.
Sein eigentlicher Name war Paolo Cagliari, auch geschrieben Paolo Caliari. Bekannt wurde er jedoch mit dem Namenszusatz „Veronese“, nach seinem Geburtsort Verona.
