Jesse Louis Jackson, Sr. ist ein US-amerikanischer Politiker, Aktivist, Bürgerrechtler und Baptistenpastor.

1984 und 1988 bewarb er sich für die Präsidentschaftskandidatur der Demokratischen Partei und wurde bei den Vorwahlen Dritter. 1991 bis 1997 fungierte Jackson als Shadow Senator für die Bundeshauptstadt Washington, D.C. und hatte damit sein erstes Wahlamt inne.
