Elizabeth Cady Stanton war eine US-amerikanische Bürgerrechtlerin und eine führende Persönlichkeit der Frauenrechtsbewegung in den USA. Zusammen mit ihrem Ehemann Henry Stanton und ihrem Cousin Gerrit Smith war sie auch in der Anti-Sklaverei-Bewegung aktiv. Sie war befreundet mit dem Abolitionisten und früheren Sklaven Frederick Douglass.
