Edvard Munch Zitate

Edvard Munch [ɛdvɒ:rt muŋk] war ein norwegischer Maler und Grafiker des Symbolismus. Neben über 1700 Gemälden fertigte er zahlreiche Grafiken und Zeichnungen an. Munch gilt als Bahnbrecher für die expressionistische Richtung in der Malerei der Moderne. In Deutschland und im übrigen Mitteleuropa genoss er früh den Ruf eines epochemachenden Neuschöpfers. Heute sind seine Eigenart und sein Status auch im übrigen Europa und in der Welt anerkannt. Am bekanntesten sind die Werke Munchs aus den 1890er Jahren, die er im so genannten Lebensfries zusammengefasst hat, darunter Der Schrei.
