Cyprian , eigentlich Thascius Caecilius Cyprianus, war Bischof von Karthago und ein bedeutender Kirchenschriftsteller der Alten Kirche. Er wird in der römisch-katholischen, alt-katholischen und orthodoxen Kirche als Heiliger verehrt. Auch der anglikanischen und evangelischen Kirche gilt er als denkwürdiger Glaubenszeuge. Wikipedia
