Imelda Romuáldez Marcos ist eine ehemalige philippinische First Lady.

Imelda Marcos, eine ehemalige Schönheitskönigin, war von 1954 bis zu seinem Tod 1989 die Ehefrau von Ferdinand Marcos, dem 10. Präsidenten der Philippinen . Nachdem das diktatorische Marcos-Regime 1986 abgesetzt wurde, flohen Ferdinand und Imelda Marcos nach Hawaii. Transparency International zufolge war das Marcos-Regime nach 1970 das zweitkorrupteste der Welt.

Nach dem Tod ihres Mannes kehrte Imelda Marcos in den 1990er Jahren auf die Philippinen zurück und erlangte mehrere Wahlämter. Ebenso nahmen enge Familienmitglieder hohe politische Posten ein. Ihr Bruder ist derzeit Bürgermeister von Tacloban City, ihr Neffe sitzt im philippinischen Parlament. Auch ihre Kinder haben politische Ämter inne.

Marcos hat vier Kinder, drei eigene sowie eine adoptierte Tochter. Imelda Marcos fällt durch verschwenderische Extravaganz und ihre exorbitante Schuhsammlung auf.
