die als Präsidentin der National American Woman Suffrage Association erfolgreich für das 19. Catt war zweimal Präsidentin der NAWSA und Begründerin der League of Women Voters und der International Alliance of Women. Jacqueline Van Voris, eine Historikerin, formuliert ihre Bedeutung so:
