Jean-Luc Godard ist ein französisch-schweizerischer Regisseur und Drehbuchautor. Er zählt zu den einflussreichsten Filmregisseuren der 1960er-Jahre und war Teil der Nouvelle Vague. Mit filmtechnisch innovativen, meist sehr gesellschaftskritischen Filmen wie Außer Atem, Die Verachtung und Elf Uhr nachts prägte er nachhaltig das Kino. 2010 erhielt er den Ehrenoscar für sein Lebenswerk.
