Irving Kristol war ein US-amerikanischer politischer Autor und Sozialwissenschaftler. Kristol wird häufig als spiritus rector des Neokonservatismus in den USA bezeichnet und trug unter anderem zur Netzwerkbildung entsprechender Denkfabriken bei. Er schrieb lange Zeit eine Kolumne für das Wall Street Journal und war Mitbegründer des Magazins The National Interest.

Sein Sohn William Kristol ist ebenfalls ein führender Neokonservativer. Wikipedia
