Satyajit Ray Zitate

Satyajit Ray war ein indischer Filmregisseur des bengalischen Films. Er entwickelte einen vom Neorealismus des französischen und italienischen Films inspirierten, humanistischen Personalstil. Satyajit Ray: Zitate auf Englisch

“Last, but not least -- in fact, this is most important -- you need a happy ending. However, if you can create tragic situations and jerk a few tears before the happy ending, it will work much better.”

Satyajit Ray:Quotes: Quotable Quote, 13 December 2013, Goodreads http://www.goodreads.com/quotes/625702-last-but-not-least----in-fact-this-is-most,

“If the theme is simple, you can include a hundred details that create the illusion of actuality better.”

In Quotations by 60 Greatest Indians, Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology http://resourcecentre.daiict.ac.in/eresources/iresources/quotations.html,

“I never imagined that any of my films, especially Pather Panchali, would be seen throughout this country or in other countries. The fact that they have is an indication that, if you're able to portray universal feelings, universal relations, emotions, and characters, you can cross certain barriers and reach out to others, even non-Bengalis.”

The Cineaste Interviews: On the Art and Politics of the Cinema, ed. Dan Georgakas and Lenny Rubenstein, Chicago: Lake View Press, 1982, Vol. 1, Ch. 34 ( eprint at satyajitray.org http://www.satyajitray.org/about_ray/ray_on_ray.htm)
