Romário de Souza Faria ist ein brasilianischer Politiker und ehemaliger Fußballspieler, der zu den bekanntesten Stürmern der Welt gehörte.
1994 wurde Romário Weltmeister und im gleichen Jahr zum Weltfußballer des Jahres gewählt. Er wurde 2004 in die Liste der 125 besten lebenden Fußballspieler aufgenommen. Im Oktober 2010 wurde er für die Partido Socialista Brasileiro des Staates Rio de Janeiro in die Legislaturperiode 2011 bis 2015 der Abgeordnetenkammer des brasilianischen Nationalkongresses gewählt. Seit Februar 2015 vertritt er seinen Heimatstaat als einer von drei Senatoren im Bundessenat Brasiliens. Wikipedia
