Roger Federer [ˈrɔdʒər ˈfɛdərər] ist ein Schweizer Tennisspieler.

Mit insgesamt 310 Wochen , davon 237 Wochen am Stück, führte Federer die Weltrangliste bislang am längsten an. Auch stand er als bisher ältester Spieler an deren Spitze. Die Jahre 2004 bis 2007 und 2009 beendete Federer zudem als Weltranglistenerster. Er hält den Rekord für die meisten Grand-Slam-Titel im Einzel bei den Herren und hat bis dato 99 Einzel- und acht Doppeltitel gewonnen.

Federer ist der einzige Spieler, der dreimal drei Grand-Slam-Titel in einer Saison gewann . Er ist einer von acht Spielern, die im Laufe ihrer Karriere alle vier Grand-Slam-Turniere mindestens einmal gewonnen haben. Mit acht Einzeltiteln ist er der Rekordsieger der Wimbledon Championships. Er gewann sechsmal die Australian Open und fünfmal die US Open sowie einmal die French Open. Mit sechs Siegen ist Federer Rekordhalter bei den ATP World Tour Finals.

Federer wurde von 2005 bis 2008 sowie 2018 jeweils zum Weltsportler des Jahres gewählt.

Bereits zu seiner aktiven Zeit wird Federer von Tennisexperten oft als bester Spieler in der Geschichte dieses Sports bewertet.
