Paul Leonard Newman war ein US-amerikanischer Schauspieler, Filmregisseur, Rennfahrer und Unternehmer. Nach seinem Durchbruch Mitte der 1950er Jahre zählte er rund drei Jahrzehnte lang zu den populärsten und erfolgreichsten Hollywoodstars. In einer Zeitspanne von 44 Jahren war er neunmal für den Oscar nominiert. Neben dem schon 1986 vergebenen Oscar für sein Lebenswerk erhielt er die Auszeichnung ein Jahr später für Die Farbe des Geldes auch als bester Hauptdarsteller. Wikipedia
