Jane Sandanski Zitate

Jane Iwanow Sandanski war ein Revolutionär und gilt als eine führende Persönlichkeit der BMARK . Ihm zu Ehren wurde die bulgarische Stadt Sweti Wratsch in Sandanski umbenannt.

Er unterstützte die Jungtürken und war nach derer Revolution Mitglied der osmanischen Volksföderative Partei . Unter seiner Leitung wurde im Ersten Balkankrieg am 17. Oktober 1912 die Stadt Melnik erobert. Damit endete die Jahrhunderte andauernde osmanische Herrschaft über der Stadt. Sein Grab befindet sich heute in der Nähe des Roschen-Klosters bei Melnik.
