David William Donald Cameron ist ein britischer Politiker. Er war vom 11. Mai 2010 bis zum 13. Juli 2016 Premierminister des Vereinigten Königreichs und von 2005 bis 2016 Parteivorsitzender der Conservative Party. Cameron war Initiator des Referendums über die Unabhängigkeit Schottlands sowie des Brexit-Referendums, da er seine innerparteiliche Position mit dem Referendum darüber stabilisieren wollte. Nach der Entscheidung der britischen Wähler für den Austritt des Vereinigten Königreiches aus der Europäischen Union trat er zurück, weil er für den Verbleib plädiert hatte. Seine Nachfolgerin im Amt des Premierministers wurde am 13. Juli 2016 die bisherige Innenministerin Theresa May. Wikipedia
