Boris Johnson

Geburtstag: 19. Juni 1964

Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson ist ein britischer Publizist und Politiker der Conservative Party. Von 1999 bis Dezember 2005 war Johnson Herausgeber des konservativen Nachrichtenmagazins The Spectator. Seit 2015 vertritt er den Wahlkreis Uxbridge and South Ruislip im Westen Greater Londons im Unterhaus, dem er von 2001 bis 2008 bereits für Henley angehört hatte. Von Mai 2008 bis Mai 2016 war er Londoner Bürgermeister, von Juli 2016 bis Juli 2018 britischer Außenminister.

Johnson führte die Kampagne der Befürworter eines EU-Austritts des Vereinigten Königreichs vor dem Referendum am 23. Juni 2016 an und galt damals als einer der Favoriten für die Nachfolge des Premiers David Cameron.
