Rasmus Lerdorf ist ein dänisch-kanadischer Programmierer. Er ist der Erfinder der Computersprache PHP/FI . Die erste Version dieser Programmiersprache war eine Sammlung von C-Programmen. Das ursprünglich mit PHP/FI für „Personal Home Page/Forms Interpreter“ benannte Set wurde später in PHP für „PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor“ umbenannt.

Von 2002 bis Ende 2009 arbeitete er für Yahoo.

Seit 2012 arbeitet er für Etsy.Lerdorf trägt regelmäßig auf Open-Source-Konferenzen vor. Während seines Vortrags auf der OSCMS 2007 präsentierte er zu jedem anderen Projekt, das dort vorgestellt wurde, mindestens eine Sicherheitslücke. Wikipedia
