Mahinda Rajapaksa

Percy Mahinda Rajapaksa ist ein sri-lankischer Politiker und Premierminister von Sri Lanka. Von 2005 bis Januar 2015 war er der sechste Präsident Sri Lankas. Nach seiner überraschenden Niederlage bei der Präsidentschaftswahl am 8. Januar 2015 wurde er von Maithripala Sirisena abgelöst.

Am 26. Oktober 2018 wurde Rajapaksa von seinem Nachfolger als Staatspräsident Maithripala Sirisena als Nachfolger für den entlassenen Premierminister Ranil Wickremesinghe eingesetzt. Wickremesinghe bezeichnete die Vereidigung seines Nachfolgers als illegal und kündigte gerichtliche Schritte an.
